ISLA held a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, April 17 at its future location at 5350 W. 78th St. in Edina. ISLA is a Spanish immersion International Baccalaureate World School and will be launching a pre-kindergarten program
at the new site, in addition to adding one section each to kindergarten and first grade.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were teachers, students, staff members and parent volunteers who serve on the school’s various committees and elected School Board. All had a chance to turn some of the dirt placed in front of the school and later took a tour of the building.
The new location of 70,300-square-feet will double the size of the school, allowing it to have a dedicated gymnasium, auditorium and food service space. Stay tuned for more information and updates about the move!
