Session Activities
ISLA will have the following sessions for the upcoming year:
Fall: September 29-December 19 (12 weeks)
Winter: January 5-March 27 (12 weeks)
Spring: April 6-May 22 (7 weeks) *Sign ups will open the week of March 16th*
Class pricing for extracurriculars is based on the number of classes in each session, with a sliding fee scale and discounts available for school volunteers. Families who receive reduced price meals based on the Educational Benefits Form will receive a 50% discount for all ISLA extra-curricular activities and those who qualify for free meals will receive a 75% discount. Classes that are sponsored by outside organizations unfortunately do not carry these discounts (indicated by a star).If a student is already enrolled in Aventuras after care on the day of the club they are registering for, their registration will be 50% off. Alternatively, a family may pay the Aventuras change fee to cancel Aventuras and pay the full price for the extracurricular, with an expected pick-up at 5:15.
ISLA Strings
ISLA Strings is for violin, viola, and cello players in 4th and 5th grade with prior experience playing their instrument. Students will learn a variety of repertoire, and experience how musicians collaborate, analyze, and rehearse music together. If your student is interested in learning to play a string instrument, please stay tuned for a beginner program starting in the fall of 2026.

3D Design Club
Unlock your creativity in the 3D Design Club! Students will explore digital tools, to design their own 3D objects, characters, and environments. Each session offers hands-on opportunities to imagine, build, and bring ideas to life using 3D technology.
If you enjoy creating, experimenting, and trying new things, this club is the perfect place to dive into the world of 3D design. Come have fun, learn new skills, and make amazing creations!

Arte Pintura 3-5 is a great chance to learn more about artists and painting in depth. We'll learn about acrylic painting and make a representation using the technique of the Impressionism big artists.

Welcome to the Art & Crafts Club! A creative space where students can explore their imagination and enjoy making art in a fun and relaxed environment.
We will work with painting, drawing, collage, recycled materials, and seasonal crafts. Each session will help students develop creativity, fine motor skills, and teamwork.
The only thing required is to bring ideas, enthusiasm and be ready to have fun!

Learn new illustration and coloring techniques inspired by popular video games and classic apps. Create artwork based on pixel block characters, plants, zombies, and more. Art is all around us, including on phones and online—join us for a workshop that captures the amazing imagery of our favorite apps and video games. If you love gaming or drawing, you'll have a blast adding your personal touch to these favorites!

Movement and Games
We are really excited to introduce a new extracurricular activity focused on traditional movement games from Spain and El Salvador.
This activity aims to help children stay active while discovering and enjoying games that are part of the cultural heritage of both countries. Through play, students will improve their coordination, teamwork, communication skills, and physical fitness in a fun and dynamic environment.
During the sessions, children will participate in well-known playground games that have been played for generations in Spanish schools, as well as traditional movement games from El Salvador. These activities encourage cooperation, respect for rules, fair play, and inclusion. In addition, students will learn about cultural similarities and differences through active participation.
We believe this will be a wonderful opportunity for students to move and learn.

Spark your child’s curiosity in this hands-on extracurricular class where music, visual art, and creativity come together! In Exploring Sound & Visuals, students in grades K–5 will experiment with everyday materials to discover how sound and visuals interact in surprising and exciting ways.

Student Podcast Club
Does your child love to talk, share ideas, tell stories, or interview others? Our Podcast Club is the perfect place for them!
Students 3rd through 5th grade will have the exciting opportunity to create their very own podcast to share with our school community. Throughout the class, students will learn how to turn their ideas into a real podcast episode.
In this club, students will:
🎧 Brainstorm and develop their own podcast ideas
📝 Write scripts and plan their episodes
🎤 Practice speaking and interviewing skills
🎛️ Learn basic recording techniques
📢 Share their finished podcasts with our school community

Chess Club
Challenge yourself! Play Chess! Exercise Your Brain! Taught by professional chess coaches/chess masters! Any level is welcome. Learn to play a game of chess. Practice good sportsmanship. Compete for various prizes including certificates, medals, and chess sets! Competitive chess tournaments are scheduled twice a year and students can play for real chess trophies!

ISLA Traveling Music Academy Vocal Stars Choir
In Vocal Stars Choir, we start by exploring our voices through simple and enjoyable songs. We’ll learn how to sing with confidence, use different vocal techniques, and discover what makes our voices unique. It’s all about having fun and feeling great while developing our singing skills. We will dive into different music styles and work on creating our own melodies. Whether you love pop, musical theater, or anything in between, you’ll have the chance to experiment with new sounds and develop your musical creativity. With plenty of encouragement, we will build confidence and learn to control our voices.

Afterschool Theater Club
Tuesday | Grades 3–5
Step into the spotlight! Our Afterschool Theater Club is a fun, creative space where kids bring their favorite childhood books and movies to life through short skits and mini plays. Participants will explore the basics of acting, character development, movement, and expression while working together to retell and reimagine well-loved stories.
Through games, improvisation, and guided rehearsals, students will build confidence, communication skills, and teamwork in a supportive, encouraging environment. Each session encourages creativity and imagination, allowing kids to contribute ideas, costumes, and dialogue as they help shape the performances. No prior theater experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a love for storytelling. The club concludes with informal performances that celebrate each child’s creativity and growth.

“Los Minions” Basketball Runs All Year Long!
At our school, the “Los Minions” basketball extracurricular doesn’t stop… it continues throughout the entire year!
We’ll keep training, learning, and having fun together with special sessions during Spring Break with Profe Alex, Profe Aitana and Profe Claudia!
Basketball is more than just a sport, it’s a great way to grow:

Jazz Band
Jazz Band is for 5th grade students currently participating in ISLA Band during the school day. Students will experience new repertoire that they wouldn’t normally experience in a concert band setting, influenced by musical genres, such as jazz, blues, funk, rock, and more!
