Before care - Students will arrive and spend before school care in the ISLA cafeteria. Games, manipulatives, and art supplies will be provided to engage students. Families participating in before-care will be given a key card and will be able to enter and drop off students using the glass double doors under the covered parking. El Nido parents will want to drop off all backpacks and student items in the student’s cubby prior. K-5th grade students will hang up their backpacks and items using the brown shelves at the entrance to the cafeteria. We work to have a calm and engaging start to the school day.
After care - Students will be brought to the ISLA cafeteria after school for a snack and table activities. Students will then join their group (cafeteria activities, gym activities, playground activities), or to their registered extracurricular activity at 4:15. Between 4:15-5:15pm, students will be in a variety of locations throughout the building. At 5:15, all students will commune in the ISLA cafeteria and engage in table activities (Lego, blocks, building, coloring, playdough, etc.) until 6:00. Families should plan to pick up their students in the Cafeteria between 5:15 and 6:00pm.
Non-school day care - Students will arrive and start their day in the ISLA cafeteria. Students will follow a rotating schedule with a variety of activities throughout the day. Morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack will be provided. The daily schedule and student groups will be posted for families, though we recommend drop-off between 8:00-9:00 and pick-up between 4:00-5:00 as students are engaged in a variety of activities throughout the building mid-day.
