We are already thinking about recruitment for next year's Language Ambassadors! If you know a young adult interested in education, please encourage them to check out Amity and apply!
Amity Institute Intern Program Bulletin
There will be no school for ISLA students on this Thursday and Friday, October 3rd and 4th.
We have an incredible update for you all! We’re so excited to announce that we have received a generous $10,000 donation match for our Obstajog campaign! Every donation made on the ISLA GiveButter website from Friday, September 27th through Sunday, October 6th, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000! Your student’s efforts can now go twice as far! This is a huge step in getting us close to our Obstajog goal of raising $50,000!
Thank you to all those students and families who have already jumped into campaigning! We heard about lemonade stands and video slideshows - our student's creativity never ceases to impress. And many of our GiveButter donations have been in support of our youngest Kinder students! Amazing work y’all! With only 2 weeks to go, now’s the time to jump all in! Please share ideas on the ISLA Families Facebook page and make your donation this week to take advantage of the match.
Save the Date: All the student’s hard work will be rewarded with an exciting day of running the Inflatable Obstacle Course, on Friday, October 11th. We will also be holding a celebration after school that day from 4pm-7pm. Please plan to pop into the gym after pick up or stop by school in the early evening for the opportunity to see your student(s) run the course again, and socialize with our community.
Be a Part of it All: We will need volunteers to support supervising the course throughout the day from 8:45am-7pm, so please sign up for those shifts here.
Thank you so much for joining us! We loved how engaged families were in engaging with our ISLA program of instruction, which we hope you found inspiring!
Here are a few follow-up resources:
We are so pleased to continue partnering to support your children as well-rounded, multilingual, curious, compassionate humans!
Starting this week students from 3rd-5th grade will have access to a new set of nominee books chosen by the Maud Hart Selection Committee. Thanks to the PTO for providing funds to purchase all the books!
The Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award is a children's read-and-vote book award. Its purpose is to encourage recreational reading among school-age children. Nominated titles are works of fiction of recognized quality selected by independent regional reading groups.
Students in grades 3-5 who have read or listened to at least three titles from the Division I nominee list are eligible to vote for the Maud Hart Lovelace Award. Those who read the ten books by the end of the school year, will earn a certificate and the privilege to forever be on the Wall of Fame in their class!
Sr. Izquierdo's class will be in charge of lending the books. There will be student librarians and guardians taking care of them. The books from last year's challenge are also available in the ISLA library. Check out this presentation if you want to know more.
