This is Mauricio Rodríguez Martín (Profe Mauro), a Bilingual Educator from the Colombo American University Institution (ÚNICA). With over nine years of experience teaching an integrated curriculum in both Colombia and the United States, he has developed a strong commitment to addressing the needs of his students and their families, which led him to pursue a Master’s in Psychopedagogy at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR). Beyond academics—a field he is deeply passionate about and which occupies most of his time—he greatly enjoys the privilege of reading and swims two to three times a week to clear his mind and to be healthy. Additionally, for over two decades, he has collected Salsa and Latin Jazz music, though it was only four months ago that he began taking piano lessons, gradually reaping the rewards of practice and dedication. Since August 2025, he has been part of the ISLA teaching staff as a Third-Grade Inquiry Unit Teacher, working closely with his colleagues, students and school families. Here, he has undoubtedly found an enriching space not only for his professional growth, grounded in the principles of the IB, but also for cultivating his talents, supporting his students, and maintaining a balanced life.
