Cori Adams was raised in St. Louis Park, Minnesota and attended Hamline University in St. Paul, where she received a teaching license in Elementary Education K-6 and Social Studies 5-8. She began working at ISLA in 2008 for her first year of teaching. She speaks English as her native language and improved her Spanish skills while studying in Pamplona, Spain in 2006. She has had opportunities to travel throughout Europe and Latin America, as well as Morocco and China, exploring the languages and cultures of many diverse countries. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the light bulb turn on in students’ minds! She loves watching students question, explore and come to a new realization or discovery. What she loves about ISLA in particular is the passion, collaboration, laughter and support that she finds among the staff, students and families with which she works every day. When Cori is not at ISLA, she loves to delve into books, have fun on the dance floor, and take on creative projects such as mosaics and crafting.
