ISLA Celebrates Spirit Week in Style

September 7, 2021

Spirit week was planned between the dates of February 6 to February 10,  2017. Each day at ISLA we offered a different activity for the kids to get really excited after lots of work and dedication. This year the student council chose the following theme days:

  • Monday (Twins day)
  • Tuesday (Favorite book character)
  • Wednesday (Pajama Day)
  • Thursday (Sports Day)
  • Friday (Tropical Day)

On Monday students dressed up identically with a friend or two. On Tuesday they put on attire from a favorite character from a book and for Wednesday every grade from kinder to sixth brought their own pajamas.

Thursday was Sports Day where the kids showed their favorite team spirit by wearing well-known jerseys or clothes from professional athletes. Finally, on Friday kids got to wear bright colors to highlight Tropical Day with plenty of fun service projects to work on.

Once again, Spirit week served as a vehicle to allow students to express their school spirit, and to get all students involved to work in a collaborative fashion while promoting the sense of community. Here are a handful of photos that capture the magic of Spirit Week:
