Spring Reminder

Now that we are experiencing longer days, we know that families like to get going earlier in the morning.  Unfortunately ISLA is not staffed to accommodate early drop-offs If you need to drop your child off prior to 8:45 you may contact Companeros by Mis Amigos at http://www.misamigospreschool.com/preschool-companeros-by-mis-amigos.  Unsupervised students in the building prior to 8:40 will be asked to go to Companeros.

Summer School Invites

Each year teachers submit the names of students that they recommend be invited to attend summer school at ISLA.  Summer school will be held July 23-27 and July 30- August 3.  Invitations for summer school are going home via the student’s red folder today.  There will be a follow up email sent next week.

ISLA Mobile App

ISLA families can find the ISLA mobile app in the Apple App Store and the Google Play store for $1.99 (search ISLA Mobile), which covers both Apple and Google's licensing fees.  This app was designed by an ISLA parent to help families keep up-to-date on all things ISLA. This is not required for families to purchase.

ISLA Board Meeting Date Change

The date for the April ISLA Board meeting has changed from April 17th to April 24th.  The meeting will still be held at 6:30 pm in the ISLA Library.  Please note this change on your calendar.

Fiesta Update

THANK YOU to everyone who braved the snowstorm and were able to attend the Fiesta in a snowstorm, and a thank you to everyone who joined us virtually to bid on items. We couldn’t do this without your support, in planning and attendance. A special thank you to our Fiesta Coordinators – Tasha Bredeson and Casie Budolfson who worked extremely hard to put together a fantastic event, and made last minute adjustments to host the auction items online.

Please view the video created by ISLA parent Jeremy Wilker which highlights the importance of our LAs! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pyMWl2tAXLZEF7HB70aKubsSQ6ZkLm35/view

Due to the elements, there are still a few open items for you to contribute to.

FUND-A-NEED

After the live auction we always hold a FUND-A-NEED portion of the event.  Last year we raised over $12,000 just from FUND-A-NEED.  This year we are currently at $3,500 due to the low attendance.   If you are able to help out, we have included the SQUARE link to contribute to the Fund-a-Need account so that we can afford 7-8 LA's again next year. https://mkt.com/isla-pto

Scheduling 2018-2019 Language Ambassadors (LAs) Host Family Home Visits!

Have you thought about hosting an LA? Don’t miss your chance for this upcoming school year to open your home to one of our 2018-19 school year LAs.

We are scheduling house visits in May for potential host families. We will meet at your home and go over expectations of the host families and answer any additional questions that you have.

If you are interested in hosting and/or want more information, please contact LA Coordinator Kim Gelperin at kimgelp@gmail.com.

2018-19 School Supplies

Imagine being done with school supply shopping for next year before summer is even here! ISLA PTO has partnered with SchoolKidz to make that possible for you!

The process is very easy. Simply go online to the website listed below and order your kit for your child/children. It will be delivered directly to school and will be waiting for them in their classroom on the first day. The best part is a portion of your school supply order will come back to ISLA PTO. Its a win win! This program is optional and is provided as a service to make your life simpler! Please See the attached form for additional details.

Order date: Opens April 23rd and closes June 22nd

**NOTE: The link will not be active until April 23.
