School Board Election - May 17 - 20

ISLA's annual board of directors election will be held via an online voting platform, Election Buddy, in mid-May, with results announced at the May 21, 2024 board meeting.  All ISLA staff members and parents/guardians of ISLA students are eligible to vote for school board members.

Eligible voters should receive a unique ballot link by email on Friday, May 17, 2024 and will be permitted to cast their vote using that link anytime thereafter until 5:00pm on Monday, May 20, 2024.  If you do NOT currently have an email address on file with the school, please contact Emily Smith at esmith@isla.school to provide a current email address to receive your online ballot.  If you do not have access to email or a device for online voting, you will be able to vote in person at the school office during school hours on Friday May 17, 2024 and Monday May 20, 2024.

Biographies of the board candidates and a sample ballot can be found on the ISLA website: https://www.isla.school/board/board-candidates

Field Day!

Field Day is on Friday, May 17th and it will take place at ISLA. The alternate day in case of bad weather will be Friday, May 24th. Field Day is a non uniform day for students and I encourage them to bring sport clothes and comfortable tennis shoes. We will have two sessions for Field Day:

  • Morning session from 10:00 - 12:00 for PreK - Second grade.
  • Afternoon session from 1:15 - 3:15 for Third - Sixth grade.

Please make sure your kid brings a water bottle and sunscreen. Everyone is invited to come and watch!

Come lend a hand and spend the day with your kids as they enjoy Field Day!  Sr. Diaz needs help with the food/drink station. Please sign up through the following link:

PTO Highlights

We want the PTO Website to be the go-to source for our community. The information provided in Noticias may be slightly more condensed... So please make sure to keep tabs on the website as we continue to work towards this goal!!

ISO (in search of) Videographer

We are on the hunt for a parent with some videography experience/interest to help coordinate the update of the ISLA school video after Molly OFFICIALLY joins the team. The existing video also features the previous building, so it would be great to highlight our new location, as well! If interested, please email Jenner Moretto, the PTO Chair at ptochair@isla.school.

There’s still time to draw some fun "thank yous" for the staff on the lower level covered parking areas– Chalk provided by the PTO!

Thank you all so much for your participation in helping provide so many delicious snacks & lunches for our amazing staff this week!! With your help & support, we were able to provide a gift for EVERY teacher, LA, staff member in honor of such a “SUCC”essful year! There is one day left to sign up  and bring a dish!!

ISLA on the big screen!

HUGE shoutout to ISLA Parent Bob Sparkins for coordinating an amazing day at the ballpark with over 270 ISLA friends! Our school had a special shoutout on the big screen during the game… 5 of our students ran in the mascot race after the 4th inning and more than a few families made some big screen appearances, too!! Here’s a quick peek at some of the fun, but you can find more Photos in the Facebook album! Please feel free to add yours if you’ve got them! And don’t forget, there is still time to join up with some friends and serve concessions at a Twins game!! Each game that our group brings 10 volunteers, the PTO receives at least $1000!

Get more details and share your availability by filling out this volunteer survey ASAP.
