Meet Gisela!

Hi! My Name is Gisela Marlene Morales Flores. I’m 23 years old and come from El Salvador. I live in a city called Santa Ana. I live with my parents, my sister and my grandma. My mom is a teacher in a public school, and my dad works in the Health Ministry. My sister is in high school. She will be going to Star University next year. My grandma stays at home.

I got a Bachelor’s degree from  Universidad Católica de El Salvador, with an emphasis in Teaching English. I graduated this year, in July. I’ve always had a deep interest and love for languages. In 2019, I enrolled in a French program that my university had.

My hobbies are reading, listening to music, cooking, learning languages, watching series or movies, having some coffee with my friends, and going for a walk.

I truly think being an intern at ISLA will allow me to learn new teaching techniques, methods, and ways to manage a classroom. Also, I think being in the United States will help me get a deeper understanding and knowledge of different cultures from all overthe world, which will at the same time, open up a bigger my vision of the world. Also, I’m looking forward to sharing as much as I can about my culture and language, which I think will help me to appreciate it even more than I already do.

I am living with the Behrens family while I am here, and am very thankful for what a lovely family they are. I will be working in the kindergarten and second grade classrooms. You can reach me by email at gmorales@isla.school or by calling 952-270-6058. Thank you!
