The transportation committee continues to work on providing an 8th bus route to keep our bus rides to an hour or less. There will be a delay as to when this can start due to a Covid-19 outbreak at Northstar. A significant portion of their dispatch team either has Covid or is quaranting because of exposure. There will be no bus stop changes for 2 weeks while they are short staffed. Thank you for your continued patience in light of this new development.
New on the ISLA website (found under the Health Services tab) is the COVID dashboard. Here you will find the current number of staff and students who are positive for COVID or who are currently out on quarantine (due to either a close contact at school or in the community). https://www.isla.school/families/covid-dashboard
Reminder: COVID vaccination requirement for volunteers and visitors to ISLA
COVID at-home rapid test kits will be available at conferences
We will have a supply of BinaxNOW at-home rapid COVID tests available in each classroom during conferences in November. We will have enough for each ISLA family to have one test kit. If you have more than one student at ISLA, please take a maximum of 2 test kits per family. If we have any test kits left over after conferences, we will be able to distribute those to interested families. Please contact the School Nurse if you have questions about test kits: tnelson@isla.school.
Shop at Amazon? You can have a portion of your purchase donated to ISLA! To set up Smile charities on the Amazon app on your iPhone or Android phones go to Amazon Smile Mobile App Instructions or for a computer or tablet browser go to Amazon Smile. Search for International Spanish Language Academy and you can choose to donate to the ISLA PTO or ISLA School. ISLA PTO donations will directly provide educational and enrichment funding for activities including field trips, ISLA community building events, classroom parties and materials and funding for the Language Ambassador program.
ISLA school donations provide funding for longer term facility and infrastructure investments such as skylights and playground equipment.
Let the countdown to Dia De Los Muertos begin! Monday, October 25 is just around the corner! Stay tuned for details and a small shopping supply list to be emailed out next week! We are excited to share the virtual activities planned by our wonderful Language Ambassadors!
