ISLA Board of Directors

ISLA needs you! Looking for a way to help support the mission and oversight of our amazing school? We are looking for interested community members, teachers, and parents to fill upcoming vacancies on the ISLA Board of Directors for three-year terms, beginning July 1, 2021, as well as a community member to fill a one-year vacancy from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. The Board is responsible for overseeing the general operations of the school, implementing policies and procedures, and long-term strategic and financial planning. No previous experience necessary, but we do have a specific need for expertise in finance, marketing and fundraising. Questions can be directed to Mary Jo De Villers, Election and Nominating Committee Chair, at mdevillers@isla.school. If you are interested in applying, please submit a Statement of Interest to the Election and Nominating Committee by February 19, 2021. New Board Committee

Have you heard?  ISLA has a new Board Committee and we need your help!

ISLA's newly formed Diversity and Equity Committee is in search of parents, teachers, staff members, and diverse representation from the ISLA community. Having background and experience in the area of D&I is helpful, but certainly not a requirement to participate.

The purpose of the Committee is to provide recommendations, guidance, assistance, and support to the Board and ISLA administration with respect to diversity and equity issues. ISLA is committed to proactively seeking to reduce or eliminate inequities and advance inclusion for all students and employees.

ISLA views diversity holistically as including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, color, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, socio-economic status, religion, disability, learning abilities, age, and immigration status.

Email  Erika Posthumus to indicate your interest at eposthumus@isla.school.

2021 Yearbook

Greetings ISLA Families!

I’m pleased to announce that a small team of us has begun working on the 2020-21 yearbook. We’ve got some changes in the works and I think it will make the yearbook even more awesome!

First, we’ve switched companies. We’ll be using a company called TreeRing, there’s a few key changes that come with this transition that are very exciting!

  • TreeRing is a company committed to the environment. They partner with Trees for the Future and for every yearbook ordered, a tree is planted.
  • They do not require us to order a minimum amount of yearbooks. In fact, they also have flexibility so that if you miss the order deadline, you can still place an order directly with them and simply pay extra to have it shipped to your home.
  • We have the opportunity to allow our 6th graders to have 2 custom pages in their yearbooks. This is a new level of personalization and we think they will love it!

Some things that won’t be changing include having the kinder and 6th graders draw their pictures, this is always such a fun part of the yearbook! The 6th grade drawings will transition to the interior of the book and this will give students a chance to actually “autograph” their drawing in each others yearbooks.

Finally, we need your photos! Below you’ll find links to the dropbox requests for images. Please note, each grade has it’s own dropbox.
