Join the ISLA Board of Directors!

Looking for away to support the mission and shape the future of our amazing school? Join the ISLA Board of Directors!  The ISLA Election and Nominating Committee is seeking interested community members, teachers, and parents, grandparents, and guardians to fill several upcoming vacancies on the ISLA Board beginning June 30, 2020.  No previous experience is required, but we do have a specific need for individuals with expertise in education, marketing, or fundraising. The Board is responsible for overseeing the general operations of the school, implementing policies and procedures, and long-term strategic and financial planning.  In addition, there are a number of different committees on which Board members serve. Click here for descriptions of the various committees. The Board meets in the evening on the third Tuesday of each month.

If you are interested in seeking a Board seat, please submit a Statement of Interest (available here) to the Election and Nominating Committee by February 21.  Questions about Board service and the election process can be directed to Liz Crouse, Chair of the Election and Nominating Committee, at lcrouse@isla-academy.org. The election of Board Directors will occur in connection with ISLA’s annual meeting on May 19, 2020.

ISLA Spirit Week is coming!

Please encourage your child(ren) to show their school pride the week of Feb 10- Feb 13. If students participate in the theme, they do not need to come to school in uniform.

This year our themes are:

Monday, Feb 10: Día RETRO: Dress up from any time period in history. Get inspired from any decade, century or fashion trend from the past. Groovy! (Concept: Change)

Tuesday, Feb 11: Día cómodo: Get comfy and wear your favorite sweatshirt, jammies or whichever clothes make you feel especially cozy! (Concept: Function)

Wednesday, Feb 12: Día de identidad secreta: Use your imagination and become anyone other than yourself. Create your own secret identity or dress up as your favorite character, teacher, friend or family member. It's the only day we won't say, "Be yourself!" Think of some clues and see if anyone can guess who you are! (Concept: Perspective)

Thursday, Feb 13: Día de ropa favorita: Wear your very favorite outfit or clothes. We will celebrate Friendship Day this day. Students may also choose to wear colors to represent this day: red, pink, white, purple. (Concept: Connection)

Show us your spirit for ISLA!
