Students at the International Spanish Language Academy (ISLA) in Edina went back to school this month at the Spanish immersion public charter school. ISLA – a 15-year-old International Baccalaureate World School – has a long-standing tradition of gathering on the lawn outside its school on the first day when administrators and teachers can welcome students and parents to the new year. This year was the first time the event could be held outdoors at the new location in Edina, as an expansive green space was completed over the summer.
This is the second full year at the new location, which also has newly renovated classrooms and an expanded fee-based El Nido
pre-kindergarten program for ages 3-5. This will be the first year with full use of a new gymnasium, media center, play area, and many collaborative spaces.
ISLA has limited openings in kindergarten, second, and third grades due to expanded offerings. To schedule a tour for upper grades, pre-K, or kindergarten enrollment, contact the school at 952-746-6020 or email info@isla.school.
