Desireé Herrera Méndez (Srta. Desi) is from The Canary Islands (Spain). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, a Master's degree in Educational Psychology and a Master's degree in Secondary Education about School counseling. Desireé has worked for 5 years as a Special Education teacher in a school in The Canary Islands. Also she has worked in Minnesota as an Amity intern in a Spanish Immersion School (Eden Prairie) for one year. She came from Spain with a Visiting Professor Program, and she considers that has been an opportunity to fulfill her dream. Minnesota has let her make “her home away from home”. This is going to be her third year at ISLA as a Special Education teacher, and she is so excited to share all her enthusiasm and her passion to our school. Desireé considers that ISLA is the perfect place to work and achieve some of her career goals. She believes that we all are different, so each one has something special to share to this world.
